The City of Sydney, with the November Colonial mails, arrived: at San TVancisco on the Ist December, time-table date. iKVRttCAROTLL, Saturday. A meeting of creditors m the estate of James Mackintosh, farmer, of Greenfield, was held yesterday. Tbe statement shows tbe liabilities to be \£87.108, and thn assets are estimated as worth £103,898. The principal creditors are the British and New Zealand Mortgage and A. s;etioy Company (,£33,072), and the National Mortgage Company (.£50,262), both secured. The Assignee said that m the present state of the land market the surplus was purely visionary. . The afternoon train from the Bluff ran down a onw near Clifton, and the engine left the metals, which were tor i up for some distance. Seven wagons followed, and of these two we c completely wrecked. Whether intentionally or not will be decided m the Supreme Court, as the verdict is considered to be something practically paramount to manslaughter. A man named Anderson, a woolscourer, was yesterday committed for trial on a charge of arson.
