The Burmese War.
(ELECTRIC TKLEGBAPBC. — COPYRIGHT.) (rkuter's telegrams.) Calcutta, Dec. 1. Further intelligence from Burmah states that the British expeditionary force has arrived at the town of Avu, where but slight resistance was encountered. Here General \ Prendergast was met by another embassy, who announced the unconditional surrender of King Theebaw. Dec. 2. His Excellency the Viceroy has received advices from Burmah announcing that Mandalay is m the hands of the British. General. Prendergast reports that the troops under his command entered the city yesterday without meeting any apposition on the part of the Burmese. Farl Dufterin communicated with Mr Bernard, the High Commissioner of British Burmah, instructing him to take charge of Theebaw's territory temporarily, and administer provisionally m the Queen's name.
