Horses: There has been a moderate amount of animation m the. market, and about the usual number changed hands. The Wanganui horses elicited a littl* excitement at auction, although the expectations of shippers ware barely realised. There was a good muster at th* .Durham Yards on Friday;. bidding was fairly brisk, and most of the lots were cleared. We quote :— Hacks from £2 5s to £1B ; light-harness horses, £9 to. £14 10a ; draught -fiorsei, £25. Cattle sufficient for requirements - hav# been brought forward, and a>~ stead} demand has existed.. The price for fat itockwa* barely sustained; out other kinds wer« unaltered. The Newmarket yards on Tuesday were well filled; competition wag steady throughput." Dairy and Btor» stock fully maintained the previbn* week's* values, but fat beasts receded about 5s per head. Sheep: There was again a good master at Newmarket, and prices continued yinf avoir 6t purchasers, although the previous week's vahiesVere full v sustained— wethers realisingfrom 11s to 16s 6d ; ewes from 9s to 12s 6d. Lambs were plentiful, and sold at from ssi to 12s 6d. Pigs were m full supply, and '- good porkers realised B£d per ft, live weight ; rough pigs, 2id per ft.
