The Foresters and the Wanganui Hospital.
'At th« ordinary, fortnightly meeting ot the' Foresters' Court' Roderick Dhu, held on Wednesday night, .a proposal was made which was received, with fa-, vrturj aud will probably be acted' upon> It was to'th'e? effect that, if possible, two or three beds should be^ secured by the/ Courts m this .Hospital district, at the Wanganui Hospital, the Courts cpmbip-.. ing to pay the annual cost of keeping the beds for such members as may be t admitted on their order. By this means tlin^ Fdreßterß"would"niake "sure of having a place to which bad^c^ pay might be senti and though; the Courti would pay the cost of keeping the ■invalids, they would also pay them the £1 per week to which they are'entitled'when sick. In the past members^ hiaye liad to pay this £1 to the Hospital' for^Ueir keep/ and have consequently lost" all. the benefit of the society. The ouly difficulty m the case of the local Hospital at present is that it is already ' full; every b'jid being occupied, and several patients boarded out. Enquiries are to be made, however, and a report presented at the next meetiug.— Herald.
