Masonic Lodge, 1721, E.C.

i The regular monthly meeting of the United Manawatu Lodge was held m Main street last evening, when Mr H. W. Haybittle was installed W.M. for the ensuing twelve month?, Mr L. K. Bryant, J.P.M. acting as Installing Master with the following board of installed masters :— Representing Wanganui, Mr Spurdle j'Feilding, Messrs Macarthur, W. G. HaybittU, and C. Bray ; Patea^ A. Black ; Palmerston, Messrs Batt and Swainson ; Kilwinning, Messrs Batt and Smith. The W.M. having been installed, invested ,'thd. following officers :— J. C. Nathan, S.W.; ;H. C. Collinson, J.W. ; James Graoe, •Secretary; L. B. Littler, S.D. ; J. A. Flood, J.a. T. Sclager, Tyler. Mr R. ■ N. Keeling was elected Treasurer, and Mr J. E. they. were, how- \ ever, not present consequently their investiture does riot take place till ■ next meeting. Mr T. King, P.M., acted as \ Director of Ceremonies. A banquet was held at the conclusion of the installation ceremony, presided over by the newlyj elected W.Mi, ; Mr H. W. Haybittle. The ; usual ; Masonic , toasts were giyen : with ■ musical honors, Mr Cohen ably presiding :at the organ. : A large number of visitors i were present from lodges m the adjacent ; districts, and' alse from lodges outside the colony.- The evening passed off most enjoyably, all present apparently highly pleased with the proceedings.
