Woodville Theatre.

Woodville has decided to go m for a Theatre, the plans for which are now bf»ing prepared by Mr E. Larcomb, architect, of this town. The proposed building is to seat comfortably 450 people and will have every requisite modern convenience. The stage will measure 41 by 20 feet and will be supplied with fine goodsized dressing-rooms. A senic artist from Napier has been engaged to prepare suitable scenery. An orchestral enclosure is provided below the foot lights, the latter being so arranged as to rise and fall when necessary below the stage, thereby obviating the turning; down of the lights m performances where ii darkened stage is required. . The Hull will be 60 by 41 feet, the depth from roof to ceiling being 26ft. A handsome sunlight constructed m the roof will do away with the usual side windows used, ajtd will also gice superior light, the measurement of this sunlight will be 20 by 10ft. Instead ot giving the floor a gradual rise as is usually the caso from tUe orchestra to the rear of the Hall, the seating will be specially made to suit the same purpose, the Hall will therefore be suitable lor dancing and other entertainments. A large lodge room 40 by 25ft with convenient anterooms will be upstairs, and two large shops with private entrances will constitute the ground floor front. The ventilation of the Theatre will be specially constructed on the most improved method and the entire building will be erected and finished m a substantial a.nd handsome style.
