i The many friends of Mr A. S. Bentley will retrret to learn that he is about to sever his connection with Palmerstoh. His business undertakings have not been so successful an he could have wished, and he haa rlotermined to seek an opening for his energies elsewhere. He has been offered a position at Patea, another at Wayerler, and one as trayellin£r representative of a large firm, but ho has nof yet decided which lie will accept. Mr Bentley has been a -.resident ot PalmerI "stoTV for 'some two or three years, during J which period he made many friends. He tonic an active part m the inauenra'ion of the Fire Brigade, and -manifested a ■warm interest m all matters of pnbl : c iitlity, baring also served a considerable time :as Borough Councillor. With Mr Beritiey's many frionds- we regret tlie cause that has brought about his deparitiire from a district with the progress of which he bos fever ident'fioil himself so closely. But we hopp, and we are sure there are many who will join with us m giving' it expression, that Mr Bentley will prosper m the future, wherever he may deride, to , settle. He is full of energy! and enterprise, and is not easily discouraged. We trust he may succeed equal to Ir's most sanguine expectations, and ultimately rise superior to all present Vicissitn dos.
