The Lawrence ' Company _ performed the above popular drama to^a'good house on Saturday evening, but we are" sorryto say that the"really excellent delineation of the characters; was completely spoiled by the horrible din and- rowdyism carried on throughout; the : perform-:, ance by a number of larrikins: in the gallery and stainding about' the doors. •As Lady Isabel, alias Madame Vane, Miss Lawrence was simply a, thorough success. Her rendering of the difficult role was charmingly portrayed' and elicitingrepeated applause. Thejcharacter of Mr Carlyle was taken by Mr Gerald Dillon, and the part s interpreted, fwith" more than ordinary lifelike success, especially m the death bed scene with his 'first wife when the rendering of the meeting and. forgiveness was 'given with touching effect. As Barbara Hare, .Miss Lena Robinson made the best of a rather poor part, her interpretation, however, was faithful, and her acting charmingly rendered. Miv Rede was, .of .course, the - villain Sir FrancisLevisori, and his delineation is. always a thorough success. As Cornelia Garlyle, Miss Norris ; succeeded frequently iv bringing "down the house, and was certainly very amusing;; The minor parts were sustained fairlywell throughout by other members of the Company.
