Forster is suffering from an attack of fever, which has prevented him from canvassing his constituency, Bradford. The attitude of the inhabitants of Bulgaria m connection with the Rournelian revolt is distinctly anti-Russian. Kiamil Pasha, the President of the Council m the Turkish Ministry, is hopeful of a peaceful solution of the difficulty. The Turkish troops which are intended for service m Roumelia have been sent to Macedonia. The Russians are largely petitioning the Czar not to desert Bulgaria. Greece has informed the Powers that if the Bulgarians are allowed to enlarge theiir principality, they, too, will seize additional territory. His Holiness the Pope has agreed to mediate m the matter.
