Welearrithat the necessary agreements were signed by Messrs Howe and Bell at the Puhlic Works Office on Saturday last m reference to the Porewa contract. The contractors will he known by the name of Messrs Howe and Co., and work is to start this morning. Arrangements were made last week for the gangers, and men to be ready for work this morning, and no time will now be lost m pushing actively on' with the work. —Chronicle.
