Lodge Meeting Advertisements.
The following is a copy of the letter referred to elsewhere. ' Sir— My attention has been called to the fact that you persistently republiah from the Times certain notices of Lodge meetings. With the Lodges referred to I have contracts giving me the exclusive right of advertising the official notices of meetings, and at the. request of some of the members interested I have now to give you notice that if you continue to repub'ish such notices I shall apply to the Supreme Court for an injunction restraining you from publishing notices for which I hold the exclusive right from those who have the authority to cause the advertisements to be published. This will of course mean expanse lo you. and I therefore give yoa fair notice m order that you may avoid it. The members press me to take this action because there is at least a risk that, as tho notices are apt to be changed at any moment, yours may mislead a stray reader who happens to see your journal. — Yours &c, ' , W.H. Smith. P. S.— l shall take immediate action if the practice is not at once discontinued.
