Sir Michael Hicks-Baach, Chancellor of the Exchequer, addressed a public meeting of the electors of East Gloucestershire lost night at Cirencester. In the course of his speech he denied the existence of a compact between the Parnellite and Conservative parties regarding the Home Rule question. Sir Michael expressed himself m favor of the extension of local selE-government to the three kingdoms.
