Personal.
Mr H. T. Akers, the very popular host of the Club Hotel, will take his departure from Palmerslon m a few days, the hotel having" been purchased by ?>ii "Hiddlo, a resident of Wellington, wh<> will conduct the business under his own pji-fsonal supervision. Mr Akers has boon most successful m the position which he lias now voe.ited, and by hi-i urbanity and attention to the wants of the, public, and strangers to the district and commercial travellers m particular, has m.ido himself universally and deservedly popular. In fact, we do not think lie will leave an enemy behind him, or any but who will cordially wish him prosperity and happiness wherever his lot may be cast. Mr Akers took an active participation m all matters of public concern, sporting, &c, &c, and has earned the gratitude of his employers by his unwavering attention to their interests, through which mainly the hotel has achieved such a large measure of popularity. We believe Mr Akers has several eligible openings m business at present m view-, but he has decided to take a trip extending over a few weeks before finally settling again to commercial pursuits m that particular line for which he is so specially adapted. We understand that Mr Waldegrave has expressed him self m the highest terms of satisfaction with Mr Akers' conduct of the Club Hotel, to which he attributes the excellent reputation m which the hotel is now held by the public at large.
