Manchester Road Board.
An ordinary monthly meeting- of this board was held on Saturday afternoon. Present — Wardens Bailey (chairman), Lelhbridere, Jones, Linton, and Wlnbley. Tlie minutes of the previous meeting were re-id and confirmed. Resolved, " That Mr Macarthur's application for leave of absence from the board meetings until the end of the session be granted." Resolved, " That the clerk write to Mr Dixon and inquire if he is willing- to have his nrme substituted for those of Messrs Moorhonse and Edwards, as owner of sect'on C 51." Be solved, "That a culvert be put m on the road leading- to P. Hanlon's at Ashurst, and metal for about 2 chains." Resolved, "That the application of Mr J. H. Taylor for a slaughtering license be granted." Resolved, " That the clerk be instructed to forward Mr Hutchinson's letter re Adsott's case to the board's solicitor." Resolved, " That permission be granted to Me srs Jeffries and Blaskott to fell-the bush on road lines adjoining their sections on the usual terms." Resolved, " That the clerk write to Mr Cook and others informing them that the board have no funds available at present for the work that they wish to have done." Resolved, " That the slerk make the transfer as requested from the name of Mr Adsett to Mr Neilson." Resolved, " That the c'erk inform Mr Leigh that the board renuire an application from Mr Flyger before the transfer can be made." Resolved, '' That the engineer report to the board at noxt meeting, the condition of the creek le'ding to Raukawa." Resolved, " That Mr Gordon Forlong be informed that the board have no funds at present for the bridle track leading to his property that he wishes to have done." Resolved, " That the clerk wrife to the Treasurer an<l inform him that the board are doing all m their power to collect the special rate, and as soon as that is done they will forward amount of the debenture. The usual monthly accounts were passed for payment and the board adjourned
