Stevens and Gorton's Report.
Our sale at Feilding on 23th August was well attended, and our yards were
full of cuttle, considerably ovor 200 head j being yarded, but only one pen of wethers. °We sold nearly all the catte under the hammer at satisfactory rates. At Awahuri on the Ist inst., the attendance was not so large as usual ; 150 head of cattle and a pen of sheep were yarded. The bidding for cattle was fairly brisk, and we sold several lots at satisfactory rates.. The beef, a good pen, were passed mat Zl os. We quote the following rates : — Cattle. — At Feilding : Fat cows, £5 10;! ; forward cows, £4 ; 2.V-yr steers, £% lfw ; 2-yr steers, £3 10s to £3 12s 6-1 ; 3-yr steers, £4 12s Gd ; 3-yr heifers, £3 3s ; cows, £2 2s Gd to £2 14s Gd; milch cows, £3 to £;"> ; mixed yearlings, 32s Gil to 35s ; wcaners, mixed, 275. Cattle. — At Awahuri : Forward bullocks, £5 17s ; forward cows, £4 10s ; 2£yr steers, £3 8s Gd ; 2-yr heifers. £2 3s fid ; yearlings and 18-months* steers, £2 4s Gd ; 18 months and 2-yr steers, £2 16s ; store cows and heifers, £2 12s 6d.
