The Cr. was -informed that the report of the Foreman' of Works plainly states what he had done iv cases of emergency of that kind . ; Cr. . T.King seconded the proposition that the report be referred to the P. M. Committee. Carried. In the Pound keeper's report it was shown that 4 cattle hud broken out of the pound, or been taken out. The Clerk stated 1 lint very likely the Hanger would require to be paid for driving these to the pound. He had an idea that the cattle had been abstracted from the pound at night by some Awahuri Maoris. The master was iv the bauds of the police. It was decidep re Ranger claiming to let him do so from the Road Board. The report of the Finance Committee was then read, during which Cr. Abrahams left the Council tal>lo stating that he would not sit at the meeting, as he made himself liable being one of the Liquidators of the Public Hall. The Couucil therefore not being a quorum was compelled to adjourn.
