A young man -who, m a charge of assaulting a Chinaman last week, gave evidence for the defence, m which he - admitted that he had struck the Chinaman for the sake of amusement, wasyesterdaj'- fined £3 m all, or 21 days' imprisonment. . . A prisoner named Fisher, recently sentenced for horse-stealing-, was brought up on four charges of prison insubordination, and was sentenced to 60 days m irons. Mr W.
