Flour,' heavily overstocked, best brands, .£8 10s; btheVs, from £8 ; pollard, £5 ; bran, £4 10s ; oatmeal, £12. Good whole fowls' wheat, 2s 7rt ; common samples, 2s to 2s 2d ; maize, slight inquiry, 4s 6d ; feed barley, 2s 3d. Prime Derwent potatoes, active ' demand at 70s per ton ; kidney fluke and American earlies, for seed, £3 ; prime onions, scarce, at £9; other grades, from £7 IDs. Ghceso, U<\ to 5d ; fresh butter, In 2d to Is 4d ; .salt do, 9^d to lOid ; eggs, Is 4d to Is sd, good demand. Fowls, from 3^ Gd ; ducks, 4s ; geese, 7s ; turkovs, 12s per pah" The fruit market is quite a blank this week. Fruiterers complain ot the dullness of trade, and-con-sequently their biddings are of a limited nature. Prime Hobart apples are passed mat 7s Gil to Bs, and Sydney oranges from 6s to 7s.
Messrs J. H. Wallace and Co. held their second sa'e of fat arid other stock at the Hutt Saleyards on Friday. They reptn-t as follows :-^Fat cattle showed a marked improvement on last sale. We yarded thirty head Mr quality bullocks, and sold at. from £7 12s 6d to £7 15s, being an advance of Is Gil per 1001 bon previous sale. Fat cows, medium quality, sol<l at M 10s to £5. We quote beef, prime quality, at 22s 6d ; medium, 20s per 1001 b. Fat sheep — None were yardsd ; we .placed privately, however, a liiie of mixed wethors and ewes at 13s 6d ; : we quo!e mutton at 2d per lb. Store QaHle —We sold forty-two head ; cows, £3 5s to £4 10* ; 2-yr-olds, £2 10s • yearlings m low contlUi-m, £1 to £l 10s, dairy cows, £5.
