CHOLERA IS SPAIN.
A London special despatch, of May 19th, says tha authorities have for a longtime concealed the fact of the rapid spread of cholera m Spain. They have given out glowing accounts of the success of Dr Ferran's new system of microbic inoculation a3.a preventive, but these acconnts are known to be much overdrawn. Df Ferran has inoculated several thousand persons, and comparatively few of them have been attacked or killed by 'cholera, but subjects are generally selected from the better class of people, who, by their cleanliness, regularity of habits, and exemption from exhausting labor, were less susceptible to infection, and less liable to anccmnb if attacked than the bulk of the peasantry. London medical m^n are indisposed try credit the efficacy of Ferran's discovery, and prefer to await the report of the Government Commission sent from England to investigate. Despatches of June say the cholera is increasing m violence, and that 45 per cent of those attacked die.
