Pearce, chairman of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, Wellington :— " The Committee of this Chamber considers it desirable that the various Chambers throughout the Colony should have an opportunity of considering the new tariff before it comes law, that the Committee respectfully suggests that you be good enough to see the Colonial Treasnrer to ask that the new tariff be not adopted by Parliament till the several Chambers have time to express their views on the measure. — G. G. Stead, Acting-Chairman of Committee of Canterbury Chamber of Commerce/ A consignment of American brook trout ova packed m ice was forwarded by the Manapouri for the Melbourne and Ballarat Acclimatisation Societies, from the Opawa fish breeding establishment. Blenheim, Thursday. James Shearer, arrested under warrant for deserting his wife and children, was brought up at the Court this morning -and renianded to Wellington.
