(UNITED PKBBS ASSOCIATION.) Adelaide, June 16. A shocking tragedy occurred m North Adelaide on Friday last. A man named Lines, who had been residing up-country, came down to town and discovered that his wife was cohabiting with a man named O'Connor. He took a revolver and going to the house m the afternoon shot his wife and O'Connor, and afterwards shot himself. All three died almost immediately. A letter to his faf/ljgr showed that the whole affair was premeditated; The TJroman had m her pocket a document signed py tines, giving her leave to, go where she liked and to" do what she liked, as he would have nothing to, do with her. The document is dated March last. SypHBY, June 16. A telegram was posted at the Exchange on Thursday last announcing that the steamer Cahors, which left Syd • ney on Tuesday last for Brisbane, went ashore the previous night on Evans Rock, near Ballings Head. Immediately she struck, no hope being entertained of getting htsr off, as four feet ot water was m the hold, the steamer Biirmah took off her passengers, but the crew refused to leave ' her. Later on the Government steamer Dione succeeded m briuginsr away thirty qf fcjje crew. Only ' one person was lost. The captain of the Cahors riports that the behaviour of the passongers and ere w- was excej lent.
