The Mayor passed a high tribute to the efficient and excellent way m which Mr Jenssen had discharged his duty as Treasurer since the inauguration of the Council. ;/ Resolyed— That a letter be sent to Mr Jenssen m acknowledgement of hit services as Treasurer. : Mr R. Leary was appointed -m his atead. Cr Grace presented a petition from residents v of Lombard-street, asking to have it made right through from Featherstone street, to Cuba-street. The Mayor thought a legal question was involved, as no street existed for » portion of the street referred to, vi*,, that through Nathan's, paddock. •Resolved— That the i matter stand over till next -Council meeting, by which time Mf Nathan could be communicated with oa the subject.
