THE LOAN.

(TO THE EDITOR OV THK STANDARD.) gi Rj _I hope Gr Park's very foolish observations at last Borough Council re (he Bank and the Loan will not do harm. I should not be surprised if they did, howover. I can't imagine what he was thinking about. In my opinion we should be too glad to give the Bank all the information we can, without sneering at and insulting them. lam glad that the good sense of the Council overruled Cr Park's silly suggestion, and I hope lie will learn wisdom from experience. If any liilch should now occur with the Bank I should blame Cr Park for being the cause directly or indirectly. His remarks were very indiscreet, very impolitic, and m exceedingly bad taste.— l am, &c. * No. 4 Wahd.
