BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The following- are the minntes of the Public Works Committee read at Wednesday's meeting of tht Borough Council, accidentally omitted from the report of the proceedings which appeared m our previous' issue :— Resolved— -That the metalling of North street referrel to this committee froim the Council be completed. Resolved — To rccomtmnd that to meet Mr Powell's application referred from the Council, Pitt-streat be completed and tjie metalling be done iv Ferguson-street as far as necessary. Resolved— To recommend to the Council that a contract be let for the clearing of Ferguson and Main-street drains;- £ ' Re.-iolvod— To report to the Council that tenders had not yet been , invited for the lighting, .is no arrangement had yet been made for the erection of the extra lamp : posts. > Resolved — To ask for authority to have wells dug and pumps erected and hay racks fixed m the Pound this year ; to comply with the Impounding act, 1884, and to suggest that a small office be erected so that necessary signatures, &c, can be taken m wet weather. . . , . It was resolved that the report be a lopted, with the exception :of the part referring to Ferguson and Main-street drains.
