Fire In Auckland.
(united press association.) AncKLAND, Saturday. . A fire broke out this morning m the large three-storey concrete building used by Garland and Cranwell as a furniture factory. The fire originated m the top storey used for the storage of manufactured furniture, rapu, feathers, etc. Before the flames were extinguished the whole of the top storey was gutted, while the water seriously damaged the partly, manufactured furniture m the floor below. A portion of the galvanised iron root fell on the Fire Brigade, but none sustained any injury. The walls of the building were made of Mahurangi lime and concrete, which stood tne test admirably. The insurances on the stock are £500 National and £500 Norwich Union; on the plant, £300 Norwich Union; on the building (which cost £1600), £800 m the National. The firm allowed a policy of £1000 on the, stock m the London and Lancashire to lapse six weeks ago. -The stock was valued at £2000, and more than half has been destroyed.
