.• We. held a very good «alo <n Tuesday nt our Paimerßton yards which were fairly ii Hud with cattle and full of sheep. The attendance was large aiid the bidding for shncp, in. no particularly lambs very brisk, but opened rather dull with cattle though we a anuged to dispose of nearly all the pens and sold every sheep. The price obtained for a splendid peu of wether lambs from the Hock of J. Mauson, Esq., Kdeukillie Park, bringing 8s per bead, the highest price, we believe, paid for any lambi this year on the coast. We quote tho following rates : — "Cattle.— Beef, small, £ct 2s 6d ; 2 to 2£-yr steers, 7s 6d ; 2-yr steers, £i 11)8 to £2 17s 6d ; yearlings aud 18---month steers, £2 2s 6d. . Sheep. — Forward wethers, 9s 6d ; breeding ewrs, 7s 9d to 8s ; fat ewes, 7s to 7h Gd ; shorn lambs, 3s 2d to as 5d ; lambs iu wool, 6s 4<l to Bs. Horses,— Draught horses, £21 to i'22 ; trap mare, £10.
