A cause celabre, the Mai pace divorce suit concluded on Friday last, the husband obtaining a verdict on all counts. The trial occupied 21 days. Malpace, a squatter of Rivorina, brought an action for divorce against his wife for misconduct with a groom named Edwards and a man named Sullivan. The respondent denied the adultery, and pleaded cruelty on the part of her husband. Sydney, April 28. The intercolonial eight-osred boat race on Saturday was a very exciting and interesting contest. The weather was fine, and there was a strong tide running agarnpt the competitors. Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania, competed, Victoria being the favorites before the day, but at the start Sydney was most fancied. Victoria and New South Wales were the first to get away, rowing forty strokes per minute. Victoria led up to the mil* point (which was done m smm 30sec) by half a length, but half a mile farther on New South Wales pressed them very close. Near Tennyson's Point the Victorians, after a desperate struggle, resigned the lead to New South Wales, who passed the winning post two lengths ahead, with the same distance between Tasmania and Queensland. Time, 19rnin 28sec. The wins now stand five for Victoria, three for Ne™South Wales.
