A Church Scandal.
DISCREDITABLE PROCEEDINGS. By telegram we learn of very discmHtaHe proceedings yesterday at tbe Presbyterian Church, Kumara, West Coast. The Rev Hay, tho minister, had resigned,but afterwards withdrew it, but the Prosbytery wanted Rev Westbrook to conduct service. Rev Hay's supporters refused, to allow the clergyman to officiate, and pushed him into the sheet, when reading an edict on the dooitttep, A man of his parby who was found under the church tryiug ,to urn Ice his way m by a trap-door was kicked into the street. The Rev Pay claims* £73 stipend due. Nice proceedings verily!
