Fire at Marton.

Early on Sunday morning the premises of McDowell, draper, and a barber's shop (Nasli's) and billiard saloon (Dyer's) adjacent were completely destroyed by fire, which commenced m McDowell's. The origin is a mystery. No one slept m the premises, which had been closed and locked up for three hours previously. The buildings were the property of J. Harris, aud were insured m N.Z. Company ior L 2,400. 'The contents of the billiard room and barber's shop were not insured for a penny; loss estimated at L 350. McDowell values his stock at L3OOO, believed to bo insured for LIOO.
