Australian Mutual Provident Society.

DISTRIBUTION OF £262,434. We have received a copy of the report by the Actuary to the Board of Directors of the Australian Mutual Provident Society on the Investigation of the Society's affairs as at 31st December, 1884. This old-established Society continues to increase m prosperity m the most wonderful manner. The total new business for the year amounts to 8866 policies for £2,962,402, the premiums on which reach the sum of £106,364. Notwithstanding- that the great sum of £81,067 was paid during the year m bonuses, the accumulated fund has been increased by £446,753, and now amounts to no less than £5,371,466. There are now existing £61,298 policies assuring £22,162,449, and the annual income of the Society from premiums and interest is £1,074,952. The clear profit of the year's operations is £268,884, aud it has been resolved to distribute as a cash bonus among the members £262,434.
