[Per s.s. Zealandia at Auckland.] Sydney, April 30. The fitting up ol the P. and 0. steamer Massilia is being rapidly proceeded with, and it is believed that the command will be given to a naval officer, and that a crew of 120 men %yill be placed on board The Lusitania will be poshed forward next week. The Cabinet is fully alive to defensive preparations, and no effort
is being spared to plaoe the batteries m an efficient state. Daily drills are held of all arms.
