Entertainment at Awahuri.
A most successful and pleasurable gathering in connection with the Presbyterian body took place at Awahurilast evening, the local choir assisted by some 20 voices from Palmerston rendering the service of 6ong called the " Pilgrim's Progress." Some very good views of New Zealand scenery and others were shown by Mr Ferguson with the magic lantern apparatus he also reading the prose portion of the " Service of Song." The Rev. Mr Treadwell, of Wanganui, Murray (Feilding), Douall (Bulls), and "Wright of Palmerston, addressed the meeting after tea, this latter being of the very best description and the good things heartily enjoyed by all. Most of those ladies and gentlemen from Palmerston who rendered assistance were taken over by Mr Bett in a waggonette kindly lent by Mr Stratford. Mr Ferguson also took several with him on his outside car, a number of others riding over. The party arrived home in Palmerston before midnight without accident, having enjoyed their outing thoroughly.
