The new business acquired during the past year comprises 8866 policies assuring £2,962,402. The new preniium income amounts to and the accumulated funds of the society to £5,371,466. The total annual income represent £1,074,942. The report of the actuary on the first annual division of profits* shews a cash surplus for the year of £ 411,887, of which ±-262,434 will be divided amongst the policy-holders. It is intended that m future bonuses will become available after policies have endured two years, and surrender values be paid after a similar period shall have lapsed. . _
