News which has been received here tends to disprove the accuracy of prerioug intelligence that Kassala had fallen and states that on the 20th March the garrison under Lupton Boy were still holding oit. Cairo, April 12. Intelligence of a disastrous defeat of the Mahdites by the deserters m Kardofan is confirmed, and further that his adherents were totally destroyed at El Obied.
