Road Metalling.

For public information we publish the appendod conditions for dray work requiied m metalling Kimbolton Road Extension, Waitapu Block, as furnished by A. Dundas, Esq., District Surveyor. 1. About 1£ miles are to bo metalled, for which m all sor 6 teams (2-horse) or a proportional number of one-horse teams are required. Tender may be for these or any smaller number. 2. Tenders to state price for eachdray, horses and driver for each day of eight horses, driver to assist m filling. 3. At any time when the road is not m a fit state tho metalling will be discontinued, but at such times the drivers may, if they wish, be employed m bush felling and formation, supplying themselves with tools for the purpose. 4. Teams to be approved by the Chief Surveyor or Inspector appointed by him, and the tenderers are' to keep their 1 horses m good working order, and to provide themselves with all horse-feed, accommodation, tents, &c, which they may regain, and m case of the weather interfering with the work must remain so that it may be resumed whenever practicable. 5; Tenderers must remain until the work is completed, but the inspector may at any time dispense with any who do not work to bis satisfaction. 6. Payments will be made at the end of each month, but the chief surveyor may retain 25 per cent, until the completion ; this Mnonnt to be forfeited by any tenderer who may leave without permission beforo completion of work. 7. In case of the woatlior breaking and tlie road becoming quito unfit for metalling the Government may stop the work altogether.
