MESSRS HUNTER AND NOLAN'S REPORT.
Horses : - Competition was steady throughout, and most of those entered were disposed of, but m some instances vendors' expectations could not bo reached at auction, but afterwards the animals were disposed of at market rates. We quote : Hacks at from £6 to £18 10s ; light harness horses, at from £13 to £20 ; heavy quiet draughts, £20 to £23 10s ; medium draught, £29. Cattle : The number of fat beasts offered has been quite up to the average, with little. or no alteration m values ; dairy and store stock rather scarce, value unajtered. The supply of fat beasts yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday was an ade« quate one ; bidding was slow, but almost without exception prices realised came up to anticipations of vendors. Few dairy cows were yarded, and generally of second-class descriptions. Prices ranged at from £6 to £9 10s. Stores : But few yarded ; alterations m prices nominal. Sheep : An averago number were penned at Newmarket on Tuesday, and prices had a slightly upward tendency. Wethers sold at from 13s 6d to 16s 9d ; ewes at from 5s 9d to 16s 6d. Lambs : Not very good, and sold at 'from 7s to 12s 6d. Pigs weie m moderate supply, and sold fieely at from 3d to to 4£d per lb., live weight.
