Australia, was resumed'td-dayi The Englishmen, who, at the close of yesterday's play, had made 279, continue^ their 4rst innings, which closed for 886. Shrewsbury, not out, 105. ; Bates caught» 61; Brigs, caught, 48; Peel/ bowled, \IQ. The Australians, who were 226 behind their opponents, then commenced, their second innings, and at the conclusion,, of ; the day's play had scored lo§ runs* with the loss of seven wickets. The principal scorers were :— Giffen, caught, 12 { Horan, bowled, 20; Jones, bowled, 17; Trumble, Ibwj 10 ; Bruce not out, 28. .... ' March 2s. The cricket matoh, Australia v. Etig. land, was oonoluded to-day. _The Aua^ tralians, with seven wickets down for 104, continued their second innings, which closed for 126. The principal scorer m to-day's play was /Bruce, c. 85. The English team thus won the match by,an innings and runs.
