Manawatu Road Board.

■ Messrs Snelson (chair), Sly, and Akers met yesterday to open tenders for metalling 208 chains of the Long-burn-Kairanga road. The following tenders were received : — S. Kelly, £3 i4s 6d per ohain { Fowles, £760 for job ; A. Nathan, <£3 16s 6d per chain ; 3. C. Nathan, 86 chains at £3 5s & 120 chains at £3 .is 94. These tenders being all over the amount allotted tolhis road for expenditure, the Board decided to ask the contractors to amend their tenders, all being m attendance except Skelly. The following is a list of the tenders as altered ;— J. 0. Nathan, 120 chaius £2 15s, 88 chains £3 10s (accepted) ; C, Kosenthal, £3 4s 9d ; A. Nathan, £3 6s' 6d ; Fowles wishdrawn.
