RAILWAY SIDINGS.
The Minister for Putlie Works publishej!?the following caution m ( tlie .Gazette m Reference to construction of railway sidings : — " A limited number, of private hidings only can be granted at stations, and »uch sidings only will be granted as the Railway Departtnent, after full consideration, finds can conveniently and sately bo allowed. ''Many r ' persons, haying hastily and rashly assumed that birring access can be obtained at any point on the tail ways or m any position adjacent to a station, have cptn'mitted themselves to undertakings involving expense and responsibility, and ha^e been disappointed m afterwards failing to obtain compliance with their applications. All persons are warned that no .siding access will be permitted without the formal consent of the Minister for Public Works, iv writing, is first obtained, and that no con?, sideraiion will be given to applicants upon the plea that they haye 1 incurred t'xpeuae m anticipation of obtaining 1 such consent." ' .
