PUI3SB ASSOCIATION.) Ciikistchurch, March 5. Very heavy rain ftll last night, the downpour being so great at one time as to rose people from their sleep, and. excite fears of a waterspout. This morning the rain ceased, but the weather is still dull and threatening. Dunedin, March 5. At the City Court to-day, the charge against Thomas McKeuzie of attempting to drown Richard Norman, master of the Jean Ramsey, was dismissed, the Bench holding that the evidanco did not support tho charge of attempting murder. / A number of volunteers from Dunedin and elsewhere lett by Manapouri for Wellington to-night to take part m the New Zealand Rifle Association contest. In future all the Union Company's boats including the intercolonial traders, will come right up to Dmiedin to discharge aud load.
