Wanganui Stock Quotations.
MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wanganui, March 4. There is no alteration m values of stock since my last report. The demand is fairly well maintained and a ,good number of stock has changed hands during tho oast fortuight. To-daj' the attendance was large and the bidding spirited throughout, every line beiug sold at tho auctiou. Of horses I sold a few at fair values ; the animals offered to-day were of .1 superior class to those generally. Pigs were well competed for, alt being sold at the auctions at full rates. Cattle.— Fat cows, £3 15s to £4 10a ; 3-yr-old steers, £4 ; 4-yr-old do, £5 7s 6d ; cows and calves, £3 ; cows, £2 Is to £3. Sheep. — Fat sheep, 9s to 12s ; best Lincoln ewes, 12s ; young owes, 9s 4d to 9s 6d ; aged ewes, 5s 6d to 7s 6d ; merino ewes, 2s 7d ; lambs m wool, 4a lid to 5s 9d. Pigs.— Best sows (heavy weights), £2 15a to £3 ss ; porkers up to 255 ; young sorts, 12s' to 16s ; young sucklings, 19s each. Horses. — Unbroken draughts, £18 ; superior hacks, £16 to £2o 10s ; inferior, do, £4 to £5.
