The Auckland Tragedy.
(united pekss Association.) Auckland, Feb. 23. Robert Prendergast, who murdered his wife at Pekeno, was brought to town by the morning train, m custody of Detective Twohey, and lodged m the Mount Eden Gaol. He sti'l continues m the best o£ spirits. The frneral of the late Mrs Prendergast took place at the Presbyterian cemetery, Pokeno, yesterday afternoon, the procession being folly a quarter of a mile long.
