MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Since my last report 1 have held one sale at Waverley and one at St Hillstreet. The yards in both cases were full with good useful stock. The bidding was not so brisk, and in some cases a reduction in values had to be submit, ted to. There is no alteration in the value of sheep, though the demand ia qot quite so great, Mr Wilson's rams were well competed for, prioes varying from £3 10s to £6 15s— average £4 15s ; all other rams were neglected and sold at low rates — say from 25s to GOs each. Cattle.— -Fat cows, £4 2* 6d to £4 12s 6d; 3-year-old steers, £5 ; 2-yeai-old, £2 10d ; cows, £2 13s ; heifers, £2 ; yearlings, 80s. Sheep. — Best ewes, 10s 3d to 12s ; breeding owes, 7s to 8s 9d ; store tfethers, 9s 7d ; fat ewes, 8s 9d to 9s 2d ; fat wethers, 11s : lambs in wool, 5s 6d. Pigs.— The market was brisk for this description of stock s porkurs, Qsj to 275; young pigs, 17s 6d ; baconcru, 535. Horses.-=A largo n.uii|t>ur came forward, I sold J^liQut half the number entered, with no alteration in values.
