Funeral of a Sister of Mercy.

[Wellington Paper.] The funeral obsequies of Sister Frances, a member of the Sisterhood of Mercy, took place on Tuesday, and the remains were followed to the grave by a very large concourse of persons., The remains were taken into the Convent Chapel, where a portion of the funeral service was performed on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Father Hurley,*m the presence ot a large congregation. The choir during the impressive ceremony sang the " Miserere," and also the " De Profundis." The body was then borne to its last resting plaoe by members of the Hibernian Society. The cortege was an exceedingly large one, and extended ior nearly a quarter of a mile. The procession was headed by a number of acolytes, one of whom bore a silver cross, and these m turn were followed by members of the priesthood, followed by the coffin, which was covered with a white pall. Immediately succeeding were the young lady boarders, of the convent, attired m deep mourning, and wearing black veils; then followed a number ot little orphan ohiidren, members of the Society of St. Mary, the Hiberian Society (m regalia), and. upwards of 500 children attending the convent schools. The procession was brought Up by a very large number of private citizens on foot. The conclusion of the funeral service was performed m the cemetery by the Rev. Father Hurley.
