STOCK SALES.
On Tuesday next Messrs Stevens and Gorton will hold their annual ram and sheep fair at Bulls, which will commence at 1 p.m. sharp. The catalogue appears else where, from which it will be seen that the sheep to be offered will represent stock from some of the best breeders m the district. Among those we may mention the names of Messrs F. B. Larkworthy, J. G. Wilson, E. Eead, R. P. Flood, Retemeyer, L. 0. Richards, G. C. Wheeler, W. Pearson (Canterbury), T. Newman, Mrs Willis, Sir W. Fox, and others. There will be offered purebred Lincoln rams, Romney Marsh rams, Merino rams, Lincoln ram and ewe lambs, Lincoln ewes, Romney Marsh ewes and lambs, besides wethers, wether lambs, lambs m wool, fat ewes and wethers, breeding ewes, &c., &c , altogether an immense catalogue. The sale will probably attract a very large attendance, and it is expected will be m all respects even a greatei success than that of last year. A special auctioneer's note says this is entirely a sheep sale. No cattle or horses will be taken, and it is requested that vendors „ wishing to race their sbeep will come as early as possible. Thoyardß will be open for reception of sheep at daylight. ' Mr G. M. Snelson will hold bis stock sale at the Karere sale yards, next Monday at 1 p.m. There are already catalogued 25 head beef, 12 2 year-old steers, 15 yearlings, 10 2-year-old heifers, 8 cows, 100 fat sheep, 150 prime fat wethers, 200 Romney Marsh ewes, 250 lambs (m the wool), 7 pure-bred Lincoln rams. Also, on account of W. Akers, Esq., 100 pure-bred Romney Marsh ewes, m lots to suit purchasers, 6 two tooth Romney Marsh rams, by imported rams, out of pure-bred ewes. We anticipate for this sale as complete a siiccess as has been characteristic of Mr Suelson's former sales at Karere since their establishment. Wo may point out that the train arrangements will suit very well the convenience of those intending to be present as the first train from Paimerston will arrive at Karere just about sale time, and the evening train will pass about 5.15, when the sale should be over. Messrs Beckett, Hammond, & Dick announce an important sale of stock at the Club Sale Yards, Marton, on Monday next. The entries already catalogued comprise 20 mixed 18 -months-old steers and heifers, about 4000 sheep, 100 Romney ewes, and 100 2-tooth Romney wethers, 14 pure-bred Lincoln rams, a second-hand Osborne reaper-and-binder m perfect working order. There will also be offered from W. R. Wilson's flock 30 pure-bred Lincoln rams, various ages ; from Mr Retemeyer's, 33 pure-bred Lin- , com rams and 4 pure-bred Romney rams; and from Mr A. Mcßeth's 20 pure-bred Lincoln rams. The sale will take place at 1 o'clock sharp, and will probably be numerously attended, as it is one .of the largest sheep and ram fairs ever previously held m Marton, all the entries being of a superior class.
