Post-Sessional.

Mr Mararthur: addressed his constituents- at Halcombe^on-'Thursday evening. The attendance was not very large. Mr Purkiss, was , voted' to the chair, and remarked' that this was 1 the first occasion that the Manawatu electors had had a post-sessional address,, -then*, former member never having spoken at Halcombe during: the recess. Mr Macarthur then addressed the audience, giving a full and intevestin&rcsuTne of the events of last session ; also giving a sketoh of the bills brought down by the Government, and explained how he had voted on these measures. (Joining,, to local matters, he said tfiat hib had ' "Succeeded m obtaining for Halcombe a separate registration and vaccination district, which had now been gazetted. In the matter of the E.M. Court sittings, ha had tried to obtain sittings, as desired by the electors, but up' to the present he had been unsuccessful.. However, he thought that before long he would be able to succeed m this matter also. At the conclusion of the address, the candid date was asked a few questions, which he answered to the satisfaction of tne audience. Mr W. Bell then proposed* and Mr Bealing seconded, a vote of thanks to and confidence m Mr Macarthur as their representative. Thia was carried unanimously^ cTfce usual vote to the chairman tertninited the meeting.
