T«*l«gr:»ms from Sou Jan state llmt refugees from Khartoum report that Fanigh Pasha opened the gates of Khartoum to the MahdncH on January 26, and that Gordon rushing out of the palace to ascertain tho cau^e of the commotion was slain on the threshold. The telegiams also state that nearly the whole, and not merely »i quarter, of Gordon's adherents and their families were massacred.
