It is currently reported hore to day that Gordon was slabbed while fighting was proceeding. before the capture, of Khartoum, and that ho subsequently died of his wounds. ■ It is also stated that fully onefourth "of Gordon's adheients were massacred by 'Mahdites. .'/'/ Amongst the latter's : victims were a nuuiher of women and children. It is announced that 10,000 men of 'the 'Army.' Reserve will shortly be called out for garrison duty m Great Britain,
