The Gear Company.
The Gear Meat. Preserving Company is at present m full swing m preparing f frozen meat. A consignment of 5500 sheep will be ready, for . transhipment per s.s. lonic, and 4500 are being prepared by the s.s. Aorangi.. The latter is tHe direct mail steamer, whifch will -sail for Europe on the 14th February, and will be followed by the s,s; lonic on or about the 15tb proximo. The strain on the requirements of the freezing machinery of ,thjß Gear Company is at present so great that it has been found impoa. sible to meet the requirements, and' the company h^ye .been , compelled to send some of their orders to be frozen at the "Wellington Meat Eefrigerathig Company's works. For the last shipments : per Euapehu and, Victory highly satisfactory prices were obtained m; the London markets. The directors of ijhe Gear j Company, find that orders from England qonipel them to freeze a larger quantity \t>^ beef than they have hitherto' at- j tempted, and: the ; works' are' kept, going, day and night m order to meet this un- 1 | expected demand.
