Manawatu Road Board.
In connection with the expenditure of the money granted by Government under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act to the Mftnawatu Road Board, and especially with regard to that portion ,(£260) proposed by the. Road Board to 'be 'spent oh the ICairangji-Buuhythorpe .Road, the Chairman of the Board accompanied 5 by *■ Wardens Math'ieitan and Edwards visited yesterday the road m question and spoilt a considerable 1 portion of the day m inspecting the Various portions of the \yar<i ; requiring 1 ' most iinmediate 1 attention. : 'After tine delibera- j tion the following allotment was considered the most requisite and necessary. On that . port foul near the schoolhouso. Bunoy.thorpe, and within nbout 5 chains v of the railway line, being about the worst part of the highway, to be expended £60. On the Rungifikei Line 'end £150, and on the Kaicanga end £50, total £264. : Two; gravel reserves were also selected for purchase by the Board, , 1 Tho Chairman on his return interviewed the Government 1 Auditor who has been auditing the Board's accounts for the past few days, and was informed by this gentleman ; tjiat everything was iv a most satisfactory .condition.. , <
